Using the Excel Add-In

The Hunni Excel Add-In gives you access to all your Hunni data, directly in Excel.

The add-in is free for all users, so anyone you share to can create a free account and access the data through the add-in.

The Add-In is also useful for adding, editing, or deleting data from Tables quickly.

Logging In

Log into the Add-In using the same email and password you use to login to the web portal via the Login button on the far left of the Hunni Excel ribbon menu.

  1. Download Tables or Views
  2. Upload new rows to a table
  3. Edit rows on Tables
  4. Delete rows on Tables
  5. Submit changes made using the (2) Upload, (3) Edit, or (4) Delete rows functions
  6. Refresh Tables or Views downloaded using the (1) Download Data function

Downloading Asset Data

You can quickly download data from any asset in excel using the Download Data button on the ribbon menu.

  1. First select the Root Folder of the Table or View you want to download
  2. Choose the asset you would like to download
  3. Select the columns you'd like to include in your download
  4. Choose where you'd like your table to populate in your Excel workbook

Refreshing Downloaded Tables and Views

You can refresh downloaded assets for any data updates using the Refresh button located on the Excel ribbon. Refreshing an asset will update it with current data in the same location with the same column selections from the original download.

  1. Click into any cell in the Table you want to refresh
  2. Click the Refresh button on the Hunni Excel ribbon

Referencing a Downloaded Table

You can refrence downloaded Tables in an Excel workbook to create formulas, pivot tables, charts, etc. Excel guide on using structured table references.

When you refresh a downloaded Hunni Table, the table reference name will not change. Do not change the table reference name in Excel if you plan on refreshing the Table, as it may disrupt your functions using Excel's structured table reference.

Uploading New Rows

You can add new rows to Tables using the Upload Rows button located on the Hunni Excel Ribbon menu.

  1. First select the Root Folder of the Table you want to add rows to
  2. Choose the Table
  3. Choose where you'd like your upload Table to populate in your Excel workbook
  4. Click Create Upload Table button
  5. An empty table with the column headers for your Table will populate where you can enter new rows to be added to your table
  6. Click the Submit button on the Hunni ribbon menu to submit the new rows. Your cursor must be in the Upload Table to indicate which Table you want to submit.

You cannot upload data to file columns. Uploading a file ID or a file name will not associate it to a row. Files must be uploaded through the expanded grid row editor in the web portal or through the API .

Editing Rows

You can edit Table data using the Edit Rows button located on the Hunni Excel Ribbon menu.

  1. First select the Root Folder of the Table you want to edit
  2. Choose the Table
  3. Choose where you'd like your Table to populate in your Excel workbook
  4. Click Retrieve Rows button
  5. The Table will populate in the output location where you can edit data values.
  6. Click the Submit button on the Hunni ribbon menu to submit the row edits. Your cursor must be in the Edit Table to indicate which Table you want to submit.

Deleting Rows

You can delete Table rows using the Delete Rows button located on the Hunni Excel Ribbon menu.

  1. First select the Root Folder of the Table you want to edit
  2. Choose the Table
  3. Choose where you'd like your Table to populate in your Excel workbook
  4. Click Retrieve Rows button
  5. The Table will populate in the output location. There will be an empty "Delete?" column as the last column. To select rows to delete, enter a Y in that column for each row.
  6. Click the Submit button on the Hunni ribbon menu to submit the deleted rows. Your active cursor must be inside the Delete Table to indicate which Table you want to submit.
